May is Amazon’s Global Volunteering Month, a time when the company’s global workforce rallies to make a significant impact in their local communities. Last year, tens of thousands of Amazon employees from 51 countries participated in the Global Month of Volunteering, strengthening communities where they live and work. “Being involved in my community has been one of the most rewarding elements of my life the last 15 years”, says Amazon CEO Andy Jassy.

Merging this spirit with Share At Door Step’s mission of making donating easy and convenient by collecting items from people’s doorsteps and delivering them to those in need, Amazon has continued its exemplary work in Global Volunteering Month this year. The dynamic nationwide donation drive organized by Amazon demonstrates how small acts can grow into a significant expression of community and sustainability.

Building Anticipation with Teasers In the weeks leading up to the event, Amazon’s internal networks buzzed with teaser announcements. These teasers perfectly complemented Amazon’s Global Month of Volunteering, engaging employees globally in activities ranging from eco-friendly initiatives to educational programs.

By showcasing these diverse opportunities, the teasers appealed to different interests within the Amazon workforce. Shiva Mohan Saran, Regional Manager at South Line Haul at Amazon noted, “Giving back feels incredible, especially when it’s for a cause close to our hearts – join me in supporting a Clothes Donation Campaign with #AmazonATS this Global Month of Volunteering! Together, we can make a difference! And don’t forget to Refuse, Reuse, Reduce, Repurpose, Recycle… Fashion/Clothing have their own environmental impact!” 

 This approach ensured that employees felt connected and eager to join in, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose of making an impact in the Global month of Volunteering.

The launch day in May was met with enthusiastic support across 40+ locations, showcasing Amazon’s commitment to volunteerism. Employees participated enthusiastically in various activities, showcasing the company’s commitment to giving back to the community.

During Global Volunteering Month, the donation drive was strategically aligned with a common goal of sustainable impact. By redirecting a significant quantity of goods from landfills, the initiative not only supported local communities but also played a crucial role in advancing environmental sustainability efforts.

The organizers consistently went above and beyond, demonstrating a strong commitment to the cause.
